After more than 20 years leading Design and Innovation at Nike, my return to painting felt both inevitable and long-awaited. I am currently a Professor of Design Thinking at the University of Oregon, where I teach creative process and human-centered innovation.

Working primarily in encaustic, I explore light, shadow, and atmosphere through layered wax, building depth and texture that invite quiet reflection. Inspired by Impressionism and artists who understood light as emotion, my paintings are meant to offer a moment of pause…warmth, presence, and gentle connection.

Lorrie has been recognized globally as a global leader in Innovation to all facets of Nike’s products as well as shaping the future of the apparel and footwear Industry. She is working to bring that innovation to her Encaustic Artwork.
